Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the woman linked to the sex scandal that forced former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer to resign is suing ‘Girls Gone Wild’ adult video founder Joe Francis for more than $10 million for the illegal use of her name and image. In the lawsuit, filed in federal court in Miami, Dupre contends that she was 17 and not old enough to sign a legally binding contract when she appeared partially nude in video footage filmed in 2003 by members of Francis’ Mantra Films production company in Miami Beach. On a spring break vacation at the time, Dupre was also drunk when she was told to sign a video “release” form, according to the complaint, which seeks damages in excess of $10 million from Francis and his co-defendants.”At the time of these events, plaintiff did not understand the magnitude of her actions nor that her image and likeness would be displayed in videos and DVDs produced and distributed by defendants,” the lawsuit says.”The defendants have profited from the filming, production and distribution and sale of the videos and DVDs,” it added.”Defendants created the false impression that plaintiff has endorsed and/or approves of the graphic sexual content, including lesbian acts, contained in the video, which in reality she does not.” Dupre was identified in media reports in March as the woman named “Kristen’ linked to “Client 9,” the frequent patron of a prostitution ring.Spitzer was the unnamed Client 9 cited in a federal affidavit against four suspected ringleaders of the online prostitution ring. Spitzer resigned on March 12 after the story appeared.
Jack Jordan, the man accused of stalking Uma Thurman will not have statements he made to police kept out of his upcoming trial. The Court denied a motion to exclude e-mails and letters from Jordan. The jury will hear the statements a former mental patient accused of stalking Uma Thurman made to police. State Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro denied a defense motion to exclude the material, including a letter Jordan wrote to Thurman and e-mails he sent to her father, in which he expresses love for Thurman. The judge said the letter and the e-mails were “clearly relevant” to the charges and to whether Jordan made Thurman fearful. Thurman is expected to testify at Jordan’s trial in the Manhattan court. Jordan was arrested in October 2007 on misdemeanor charges of stalking and aggravated harassment. He was accused of following and trying to contact Thurman for more than two years.Prosecutors say Jordan, 37, once tried to get into Thurman’s trailer on a Manhattan movie set and appeared several times at her Greenwich Village home.”He also sent her a letter complaining that he had been confined to a mental hospital and was being forced to take medication, and he sent her father four e-mails expressing his love for her,” prosecutors said. While being questioned in Manhattan, Jordan told detectives that he saw Thurman on a movie theater screen and when their eyes met, he knew they had a connection, that their relationship was meant to be.Jordan’s lawyer, George Vomvolakis, tried to keep the statements out of the trial on the grounds that police illegally obtained them by promising Jordan he could go home as soon as he talked to them about Thurman. Vomvolakis also argued that if Carro allowed the letter in as evidence, “the jury might think they were doing a disservice to Ms. Thurman if they acquitted him. They would think this is a crazy man,” and that she could be in danger. Vomvolakis had said in January he hoped to avoid a trial and work out a plea deal in which Jordan, whom he said was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, would enter a psychiatric treatment program.

Amy Winehouse was released from police custody early Saturday morning after being arrested on suspicion of assault. After admitting to slapping a man earlier in the week, she received a caution and was not charged. Winehouse voluntarily walked into London’s Holborn Police Station to face interrogation about an incident early Wednesday morning. A man alleged that she hit him when he got in her way while she was playing pool at a bar. According to tabloid reports, the man said she also head-butted another patron, who was trying to hail her a cab. She was expected to be released Friday, but a doctor found her “unfit for interview,” it was reported, so she was held overnight and questioned in the morning. Winehouse’s spokesman Chris Goodman said she “admitted to a common assault by slapping a man with an open hand and accepted a caution.” The incident will remain on her record and it could count against her if she’s ever charged with a similar offense.On Friday, Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court to face charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and inflicting grievous bodily harm. He had denied any wrongdoing, and when he appeared in court, Winehouse was not there. A June 2 trial date was set and Fielder-Civil will remain in police custody until the trial starts.Winehouse’s arrest is merely the latest in a string of legal troubles she’s faced over the last year. She and her husband were both arrested in the Norwegian city of Bergen back in October, on charges of drug possession, and Winehouse was arrested in London late last year on suspicion of attempting to interfere with her husband’s court case. Those charges were dropped in February.
Amy Winehouse was arrested on suspicion of assault following reports that she scuffled with two men during a wild night out. Winehouse, who recently entered rehab after years of erratic behavior and canceled concerts, arrived at a central London police station to answer questions relating to the alleged incident, her representatives said. Police didn’t directly confirm that Winehouse was in custody, saying only that a 24-year-old woman was being held on suspicion of assault. British authorities don’t usually name suspects until they have been charged. Winehouse didn’t say anything to assembled photographers and cameramen as she walked into the station. A man was quoted in tabloid newspapers as saying he was hit by Winehouse when he got in her way while she was playing pool at a bar and then head-butted another who was trying to hail her a cab in the early hours of Wednesday morning.This is not the first time Winehouse has been arrested. She and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil were arrested in the Norwegian city of Bergen in October and held overnight on charges of drug possession. A video of her allegedly smoking crack hit the Internet shortly before she won five Grammys this year for her critically acclaimed album “Back to Black.” She was arrested in London in December on suspicion of attempting to interfere with a court case involving Fielder-Civil, but earlier this year police said prosecutors were no longer pursuing the affair. Fielder-Civil faces charges of perverting the course of justice stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman.

Sandra Bullock and her husband Jesse James were involved in a car crash on after their vehicle was hit by a drunk driver. The couple was being driven home in a private car in Gloucester, Massachusetts, at around 9.50pm when they were struck by a grey Subaru station wagon. The Subaru is reported to have switched lanes and smashed into the front of Bullock’s car. No injuries were reported. Police at the scene identified the Subaru driver as Lucille P. Gatchell, from Gloucester, who was arrested after failing a sobriety test. Gatchell allegedly had two and a half times the legal alcohol limit in her system, she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to stay in marked lanes. Gloucester Police Lieutenant Gerry Cook insists Bullock and her husband were lucky to escape unscathed. He says, “They were shaken up, needless to say. But they were fine, he was hugging her. Jess and Sandra were hugging. They said they were fine, they didn’t need medical attention. There were quite a few people snapping pictures of them. It’s unfortunate. But it shows you that no one is immune from drunk drivers, no matter how famous you are.”
Britney Spears’ former manager Larry Rudolph has dismissed rumors she is recording a new LP under his supervision, insisting their recent trip to a studio together was “just for fun.” Rudolph, who is widely credited with discovering Spears when she was just 15, was reportedly fired as her manager after he joined forces with her parents and staged an intervention to get Spears to enter rehab at the beginning of last year. Rudolph recently sparked rumors he has reconciled with Spears by declaring she is set to make a triumphant comeback to the music scene. They fueled speculation about their reunion when they were seen entering a Los Angeles recording studio together earlier this week. Rudolph has denied they are working on a new project together. He says, “We went into the studio, but it was just for fun, nothing more.” A source confirms, “Britney just wanted to go in and tinker around. She sat at a piano and got some ideas. She played the piano and sang a bit. She enjoyed herself.”
